Customised Ring Binders

Customised ring binders come in various forms. You can have presentation ring binders, paper over board construction ring binders, polypropylene ring binders, PVC ring binders and more. Your ring binders can have two rings, four rings or six rings, round, square or the more common D rings, coloured or nickel plated. You can also have a lever arch system if you prefer. Customised ring binders are generally of A4 standard size, but can be other standards as well, and they can have customised printing on the cover in full colour litho, hot foil blocking, screen printing or various other printing options.

PVC customised ring binder are perhaps the favourite type of binder. It is an extremely versatile type that can be customised in many different ways. They can be made in a wide variety of sizes too, anything from a very small binder that can slip into a pocket, to a very large standard A2 size that requires a bit of thought for carrying around. The various options for PVC binders are practically endless. Different finishes and textures can be mixed and matched, folders and wallets can be added at will, and  corner protectors, pen loops and fancy edge stitching are other additions you may wish to consider.

Paper over board binders offer the advantage of being very environmentally friendly, and are therefore often a popular alternative to PVC customised ring binders. The print option for paper over board are, as you might imagine, literally endless. The finished printed product can then be protected through being laminated or covered by a clear gloss or matt film of polyester. This is usually mounted on to firm board of recycled material.

Polypropylene ring binders offer the advantage of being fully recyclable. Their lightweight, elegant stylish look belie their strong, tough, hard-wearing capabilities. Polypropylene ring binders are also heat resistant to a degree. Polypropylene binder, like their PVC cousins, can be customised in many ways. They can accept most popular printing methods, as well as embossing, and they can have a wide variety of differing pockets.

Conclusion

Customised ring binders offer many personalised options, too many to comfortably list, in fact. They are extremely popular in business, which makes them easily interchangeable, and they generally accept standard document sizes and hole punches. Through customisation, a business can easily stamp its own brand and style on all its ring binders at a surprisingly low cost too.

Understanding the Different Styles of Ring Binders

When it comes to three ring binders most people think the choices are pretty straight forward. You go to the office supply store and there are cheap ones and there are expensive ones. However, there is a lot more to choosing a three ring binder than just the price. In fact, it is important to understand a number of different factors when choosing a ring binder. This article is designed to identify the major things to look for when choosing a ring binder. Here they are…

1. Ring style: There are two primary ring styles used with three ring binders. The most common style is round ring. For smaller documents and smaller binders these are ideal. However, for larger documents companies often prefer to use D-ring binders. The rings on these binders are shaped like the letter D and they are designed to make it easier to open and reference pages in thicker documents. In addition to these two styles there are a number of variations on these styles. EZload binders are a type of d-ring and some manufacturers claim to have easy open features that make it simple to add and remove pages. However, these two ring shapes are the most common and are used in most 3-ring binders.

2. Thickness: Binders are available in sizes as small as 1/2″ and can be found as large as four inches in thickness. Generally thinner binders use round ring mechanisms and thicker binders use D ring binders. However, sizes between 1” and 3” are usually available in both of the different ring styles.

3. Covers: Some three ring binders come with a plain vinyl wrap on the front, back and spine. Others have a clear vinyl overlay that allows for printed sheets to be added for customization. These are sometimes called clear overlay or clearview binders. Both of these types of binders have a piece of chipboard inside the front back and spine. However, not all binders utilize chipboard. Some have a front, back and spine made of a poly or plastic material that is flexible.

4. Size: Most ring binders are designed for binding letter sized documents. However, some specialty binders are available for binding half letter sized sheets (sometimes called baby books), legal sized paper, 11” x 17 sheets and landscape documents. These ring-binders can be more difficult to find and are usually available with less options than standard letter ring-binders.

5. Color: The most common colors for ring-binders are black and white. However, depending on the style that you are looking for it is possible to find other colors.

These are just five things that distinguish different types of binders. These are the most common features to look for. Compare the features for yourself and choose the binder that best fits your needs.

Ring Binders – Understanding the Different Styles

Choosing a three-ring binder, while a seemingly simple task, can actually be quite challenging. After all, there are the cheap ones and the expensive ones, right? There are ones that are thick and ones that are thin. And don’t forget the plain-looking binders and the ones that have puppies and kittens on them. Yes, there are a wide variety of binders out there, but do you know what’s really important when shopping for three-ring binders? This article will fill you in on what’s important when selecting a binder for your documents, from the type of ring the binder uses to, of course, the color.

Ring style: Three-ring binders tend to have one of two different ring styles. The most common of these is the round ring and this type of binder is good to use for small documents. The second most common type of ring is the D-ring. These rings are shaped like the letter “D” (hence the name) and make it easy to store large documents. (D-rings also make it easier for the user to open the binder without some of the pages falling out, avoiding both frustration and a mess.) Finally, there are EZload binders, which feature an easy-opening D-ring, making it a snap to add and remove pages. However, the round ring and D-ring are still the most common types of rings manufacturers use when producing binders.

Covers: While some binders are merely covered in colored vinyl, other three-ring binders are what’s known as clear view binders. These have a clear vinyl overlay on the front, spine, and back to allow users to insert pages (such as a cover page) to customize the binder. Both of these types of binders have chipboard in the front, spine, and back to give the binder its sturdiness. However, there are binders available that are made out of plastic or some other type of flexible material.

Thickness: Binders can range in thickness, from half an inch to four inches. The smaller the binder, the more likely it uses a round ring mechanism, with thicker binders primarily using D-rings. However, binders in the one to three-inch thickness range can usually be bought in either round or D-ring style.

Size: While most binders are designed with letter-sized documents in mind, binders can be found in other sizes. These include half-letter size (also known as “baby books”), legal, and 11 x 17″. (Landscape-oriented binders are also available.) However, these types of binders can be more difficult to find and are often not available in the same colors or with the same features as letter sized ring binders.

Color: Black and white are the most common colors for binders. However, other colors do exist. (just think of all the colors available when it’s back-to-school shopping time.) The color you choose should be professional and reflect your company’s products and values, so choose appropriately.

These are just five things to keep in mind when shopping for the right binder for your document. Be sure to compare your selections and make your decision based not only on price, but on quality, durability, and the features that the binder offers.

Choosing The Right 3 Ring Presentation Binder For Your Needs

Three ring binders are an awesome way to store and display information in a way that is readily accessible. In fact, they are ideal for binding training manuals, product information and large reports. Many companies choose presentation binders for this type of application. Also known as clear view or clear overlay binders, each binder has a clear vinyl overlay on the front, back and spine. These clear vinyl overlays allow you to insert a title page, your company information and the title of your report or document. This allows you to customize your binder for your report and for your needs.

As simple as this sounds, there are actually a number of different things to consider when you are looking for a three ring presentation binder. Here are five things …

1. Color: Clear overlay binders are most commonly available in white. However, if you look hard you will probably be able to find almost all of the different binders in black as well. A limited number of clear overlay binders are available in navy blue. Other colors would have to be custom produced and would potentially be very expensive.

2. Ring Style: Clear view 3-ring binders are available in three standard ring configurations. The two most common ring styles are round ring and D-ring. However, binders can also be purchased with ez-load d-rings. D-ring binders and ez-load binders tend to be a better fit for large documents while round ring binders are most commonly used for smaller presentations. Generally, round ring binders have the rings attached to the spine of the binder while d-ring binders and ezload binders have the rings attached to the back cover of the binder.

3. Thickness: Presentation binders are available with rings as small as 1/2″ in diameter or as large as 4″ in diameter. Generally, binders are available in half inch increments. It is important to note that binders over 3″ are not available with round rings and that the size of the binder rings does not reflect that actual size of the binder on the shelf.

4. Size: Most clearview binders are designed for 8.5″ x 11″ letter size documents. However, if you are looking for binders that will accomidate your half letter sized documents, legal documents or 11″ x 17″ presentations there are some options available. These options are much more difficult to find and often the options available in these sizes is considerably limited vs. regular letter sized binders.

5. Quality: There are a number of factors to look for when considering the quality of a clear view presentation binder. Clear view binders are available with different grades of clear vinyl on the front, back and spine. Higher quality binders will use vinyl that will not transfer toner from your documents allowing you to reuse the binders. Higher quality binders will also use heavier chipboard, have deeper pockets on the inside and will often include sheet lifters. If you plan on reusing your presentation binders for multiple reports or presentations, these are all things that you should look for.

Using these five features you should be able to better choose the best clear view presentation binder for your organization. While you make your choice, keep in mind that many of the clear view presentation binders available on the market are designed for one time use and are not constructed with high quality materials. If you plan on reusing your binders and don’t want them to fall apart in the hands of your clients you might want to consider purchasing higher quality binders.
